BUS SYSTEM DELAY TRANSACTION METHOD AND COMPATIBLE BUS INITIATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve system efficiency by decreasing time occupied for a master having PCI compatibility to use a bus concerning a delay transaction method for a PCI system. SOLUTION: A responder 200 and an initiator 100 are connected to a PCI bus 250 by an application to the transmission of data between the initiator 100 and the responder 200. The responder 200 receives the request of the initiator 100 but it is not possible to immediately respond to the request of the initiator 100, the responder 200 generates a delay identification code corresponding to the initiator 100. The responder 200 sends out a stop signal and the delay identification code and after the responder 200 is prepared to respond to the request of the initiator 100, the responder 200 sends out a delay recognition code. Corresponding to the delay recognition code, the initiator 100 prepares the transmission/reception of data. After the initiator 100 is prepared, the transmission/reception of data between the responder 200 and the initiator 100 is started.
