PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control unit capable of altering reeling speed and intended for facilitating gripping the reel and for improving the operability of motor operating members. SOLUTION: The subject electric reel mainly comprises a reel body 1, a handle 2 intended for rotating a spool and disposed on the flank of the reel body 1, and a star drag 3 intended for drag control and disposed on the reel body 1 side of the handle 2; furthermore, a handle shaft H as the rotating shaft of the handle 2 is rotatably supported on the handle 2 mount side, and on the flank of the handle 2 mount side of the reel body 1, there are disposed the handle 2 and a motor, a clutch lever 11 lying in front of the reel body 1 and above the handle shaft H and intended for operating an on-off clutch mechanism for the drive transmission to the spool, and a rotatable and movable rotary switch RS lying behind the reel body 1 and above the handle shaft H.
