摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable use of the same differential carrier for a full floating axle and semi-floating axle. SOLUTION: A lubricating system of an axle assembly comprises a differential carrier 10, a side bearing assembly 20, a drain return spacer 30 which is disposed between the differential carrier 10 and the bearing assembly 20, and a device to selectively position the drain return spacer 30 in relation to the bearing assembly 30. The drain return spacer 30 is provided with a drain return groove formed by penetrating the drain return spacer 30. The position of the drain return groove is adjusted selectively to form a desired lubricant passage. Consequently, the flow of lubricant between a differential gear and an axle pipe 18 can be controlled.
