PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller that can easily control a device to be controlled without the need for confirming display contents. SOLUTION: The remote controller has a plurality of switches 3 to remotely control devices to be controlled such as air-conditioner. Among a plurality of switches 3, only an 'run/stop' switch 31, a 'temperature rise' switch 32, and a 'temperature down' switch 33 are left operable, and a cover 6 covers the other switches 3, so that they cannot be operated. The remote controller 1 that detects the cover 6 covers the other switches 3, then transmits a signal denoting an 'automatic' operating state to the devices to be controlled.
