PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record usual reproduction data and special reproduction data such as high speed reproduction data and low speed reproduction data to different areas of a recording medium. SOLUTION: In the case of recording usual reproduction data and special reproduction data to different areas, which of the usual reproduction data and special reproduction data is recorded is identified by using information in a header of a SYNC block and a packet ID(PID) in each data stream is in common for the usual reproduction data and special reproduction data. Thus, any complicated processing is not required for the selection between both reproduction methods in the case of reproduction so as to enhance the operability without increasing the circuit scale and the cost.
