PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold original frictional characteristic of a sliding support noticeably for a long period of time and to easily carry out spreading work of a cover. SOLUTION: A smooth plate 2 made of stainless steel, etc., is arranged on a foundation batholith 1, and a layered body 4, having a sliding plate 5 is arranged on it. A rod 21 of a cover support body 20 makes contact with a flange 6. A cover 9 is made by connecting two pieces of cover pieces 10 by an aluminium tape. This cover 9 is placed on a slide base 22 of the cover support body 20. The rod 21 erected from the slide base 22 is inserted into an insertion part 13 of the cover 9.
