PURPOSE: A DC motor is provided to directly drive the motor by using a DC power source without using any electrical or mechanical rectifiers. CONSTITUTION: Permanent magnets are attached to a yoke comprising a core such that the magnetic poles of the permanent magnets are alternately changed. A coil of a stator is disposed such that the directions of the currents flowing through the coil are alternately changed. A movable member is inserted between the coil and the permanent magnets. If the relative positions of the coil and the permanent magnets are fixed such that the border surface of the magnetic pole of the permanent magnet is located at the central portion of the concave portion of the coil core of the stator, the magnetic field is asymmetrically formed. The movable member is driven by the magnetic force of Kelvin.
