METHOD FOR TREATING IRON AND ARSENIC FOR INSOLUBILITY IN POLLUTED SOIL AND SLAG

PURPOSE: A method for adding an oxidation agent to the soil and slag polluted with arsenic is provided, which promotes the self-originated oxidation reaction of iron and arsenic to convert the pollutant arsenic into the insoluble ferric arsenate. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of; collecting soil and slag polluted with arsenic and iron to separate foreign materials to pretreat the soil and slag; adjusting pH of the soil appropriately for the oxidation reaction of arsenic and iron in the soil; adding an oxidation agent and an additive to the soil; mixing well the added agents with the soil.
