PURPOSE: A toll payment system is provided to enable automatic inquiry, toll fee calculation and toll fee payment by using a payment system using a spread spectrum signal. CONSTITUTION: A payment system comprises a user(200), a spread spectrum signal generator, an office(210) for issuing and managing a detector, a financial organization(220), a toll receiving office(230), and a spread spectrum signal detectors(240,250). The user(200) drives a vehicle in a toll road with the spread spectrum signal generator rented from the issuing and managing office(210). The spread spectrum signal detectors(240,250) detect the signal from the vehicle. A calculator in the toll payment system calculates the toll fee based upon the kind of the vehicle and the traveled range. The toll payment system charges the user with a toll fee based upon a result calculated by the calculator. The toll receiving office(230) receives the toll fee paid by the user. |
