PURPOSE: A process for preparing a high quality crimped yarn by drawing grey yarn to the highest degree using a drawing apparatus before knitting at a circular knitting machine, knitting and heat setting is provided which produces crimped yarn capable of maintaining crimp for a long period of time and being untied by a little tensile force. CONSTITUTION: A grey yarn(8) in a grey yarn supply apparatus(B) is drawn by receiving heat on a drawing roller(2) after passing through a supply roller(4), knitted at a circular knitting machine and heat set by a heat setting heater(6) in a state in which contraction does not arise between a guide roller(5) and a discharge roller(7) by receiving a tensile force to give high quality crimped yarn.
