PURPOSE: A prize winning confirmation system and method is provided to ensure rapid confirmation of the prize winning by using a network having bidirectional and synchronous properties. CONSTITUTION: Prize winning codes are stored in a prize winning data base(110,130). A prize winning confirming server(140) compares potential prize winning codes inputted via terminals with those stored in the data base(110,130). When a corresponding code is found, the server(140) notifies a winner through the terminal(100). Here, code writing means is one of entrance ticket, lottery ticket and merchandise coupon. The prize winning can be confirmed by the user very rapidly through the terminal(100) which is connected to the network. The system can promote visit of public places or purchasing of articles.
