PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for drying waste are provided to economize on energy by collecting waste heat for compensating a heat generator, efficiently dry waste by dry hot wind, and prevent air pollution, CONSTITUTION: A method for drying waste includes the steps of absorbing the heat of atmosphere by an endothermic unit(40) formed in one side of a heat generator(20) for compensating the heat generator, sucking air and dehumidifying the same by a dehumidifying unit formed in one side of the endothermic unit for supplying the heat generator with the dehumidified air, heating the dehumidified air at 100 degrees C - 150 degrees C for supplying a dry chamber wherein waste spread, and removing a bad smell by a bad smell removing unit having water of normal temperature including charcoal powder.
