PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the waiting time for a change, to shorten a first copying time and to prolong the life of the device by making it possible to set the combination of an image formable state and an image nonformable state at the time of standby to wait for the start request of an image forming operation. SOLUTION: Unless the image forming device is set at any of history compliance standby, intermediate standby and full-color mode standby (S71, 77 and 79), a transfer transporting belt is set at a posture at the time of a black and white mode (S82). When the device is set at the full-color standby or the intermediate standby, the transfer transporting belt is set at the posture at the time of the full-color mode or the posture at the time of intermediate standby (S80 and 78). When a history compliance period is set (S72), the past use record is read out (S73) and the use frequencies of the full-color mode and the black and white mode till the past prescribed period are calculated (S74) and the transfer transporting belt is set at the posture (S78) of the intermediate standby, the posture (S82) at the time of the black and white mode or the posture (S80) at the time of the full-color mode. |
