PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor brush for vacuum cleaner low in a noise generated from a rotary brush rotated by a motor and a vacuum cleaner using the floor brush. SOLUTION: A rotary brush 19 is rotatably installed inside a floor brush body 18 opposite to a suction port 27 opened in a lower surface of the floor brush body 18. The rotary brush 19 comprises a motor 30 to drive the rotary brush 19, a reduction gear 31 to reduce the number of rotation of the motor 30, and a gear 32 to transmit the output from the reduction gear 31 to a brush holder 28 inside the substantially cylindrical brush holder 28 provided with a plurality of brushes 29 on its outer circumferential surface, and the brush holder 28 and the gear 32 are connected to each other by interposing a cushioning material 47 therebetween.
