The present invention relates to an apparatus in a telecommunication system for providing access to telecommunication services to subscribers at user terminals, each of which being separately connected to at least one access point via high speed modems and a communication network, the at least one access point comprising high speed modems with filters. By means of the invention, a large number of subscribers can be connected in a short period of time, and the subscribers can consider the establishment of the connection as plug-and-play.
