An implantable automated medication delivery device (I) has a reservoir whose contents are delivered as doses by a programmable injection pump. Independent claims are included for the following: (a) (I) has a sensor sending an electrical signal indicating the temperature of the pump to a control unit storing in its memory historic data about the pump temperature; and (b) (I) has a sensor sending an electrical signal indicating the temperature of a propulsive agent of the pump to a control unit having a memory.
