Bar (3) is advanced by conveyor (8) and guided by sensor contacts (11a, 11b). Bar is progressed and rotated as required for machining by headstock (2) which is motorized (10) and able to move along platform (4). Vice (5a, 5b), with detachable jaw pieces able to accommodate bar profile, holds bar in position for particular machining operation by miller (1).
