PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the outer diameter of a part to be measured of an optical fiber with high precision by making the part almost perpendicular to an optical axis of measuring light. SOLUTION: Optical fiber holding members 21L, 21R which so hold an optical fiber 3 that a part 3b to be measured is almost perpendicular to an optical axis of measuring light LB are installed on both the sides of a measuring region A formed between a projector 17 and a light receiving device 19. Further a rotation driving means 29 is installed which synchronously rotates a pair of the fiber holding members 21L, 21R by using a rotation axis center S which intersects perpendicularly an optical axis of the measuring light LB as the center.
