PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve positioning and to facilitate assembling and repairing by providing an optical detector attached on an attachment surface at the first terminating end of an image optical path, an optical system inserted to the image optical path and an illumination light source for illuminating the second terminating end of the image optical path. SOLUTION: Positioning and assembling are facilitated by arranging an image forming constitution element on a single attachment surface 40 in an integrated optical image forming assembly 10. The image-forming constitution element is attached to the attachment surface 40 during one manufacturing process which is capable of automation, and manual assembling and positioning are eliminated. Also intermediate bodies such as a plurality of attachment brackets are removed from a tolerance stack so that tolerance control is improved in the assembly 10. Then the assembly includes the optical detector 42 at the first terminating end of the image optical path, the optical system 44 in the image optical path and the illumination light source 46 for illuminating the second terminating end of the image path.
