The brush (1) has a rotationally symmetrical brush core (2) having disc-shaped flanges and several axially parallel spokes (5), which are arranged parallel to the hub at the same diameter, and which have wire pieces (6) for working the surface. Parallel stops (7,8) for the sire pieces are arranged between the spokes. The free ends (6a) of the wire pieces are bent forwards in the rotation direction. The deflection distance of the wire pieces in the rotation direction of the brush core is limited. The wire pieces are braked and held in the radial position at the brush core before contacting the work piece.
