<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the method and device for packet data abortion which can efficiently perform the abort process for aborting packets exceeding a maximum permissible delay time and eliminate unnecessary cell abort. SOLUTION: For an input buffer type exchange multiplexing device which inputs fixed-length packets from multiple input stages (channel) and holds them in a buffer 1 respectively, and outputs the packets held in the buffer 1 in transmission order, the packet data abort processor can efficiently abort packets exceeding a maximum permissible delay time and eliminate unnecessary cell abort. In this case, the packets have priority information showing priority levels of output from the buffer 1 together with the packet data, when the packet with top priority is outputted from the buffer 1 and the packets are moved in the buffer 1, the priority level information of the packets in the buffer 1 which are not outputted is decreased and a packet which has the priority level information reaching the specific lowest value and exceeds the maximum permissible delay time is aborted.</p> |
