PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for confirming a frequency hopping sequence of a network taking newly part in a system. SOLUTION: The method 10 scans a plurality of frequency channels (step 16). A scanning step as to each of a plurality of the frequency channels consists of detection as to whether or not signals (18, 22) are in existence on a channel and recording of information (20, 24) corresponding to each channel from which a signal is detected. Finally the method generates a frequency hopping sequence in response to the recorded information (step 30).
