PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the infiltration speed of a sealing material in order to prevent the reaction between the sealing material and a transparent solid material, to reduce the contact area of the sealing material with a mixture liquid crystal layer, and to homogenize the component in the mixture liquid crystal layer by forming a plurality of lines of seals as banks. SOLUTION: A first substrate 1 and a second substrate 5 are laminated with a seal 15 while forming a specified gap, and a liquid crystal layer 19 is formed by injecting through an opening 31 formed in a part of the seal 15 into the gap. The opening 31 is sealed with a sealing material 21 to obtain a liquid crystal display panel. This panel has a plurality of lines of seals 8, 9, 10 as banks in the opening 31 of the seal 15 in the direction parallel to the outer form of the substrate near the opening 31.
