PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize expansion of application range of a brushless DC motor, wherein the application temperature and the torque of the motor can be increased by using a magnetic sensor having heat resistance, high frequency response and sensitivity up to a high magnetic field, as a magnetic sensor for the brushless DC motor, by combining a huge magnetic resistive element, in particular a magnetic particle dispersion type huge magnetic resistive element with a magnet for applying a bias magnetic field. SOLUTION: This brushless DC motor is provided with a stator having a plurality of coils and a rotor magnet which is rotatably arranged facing the coils of the stator and magnetized in multipole, controls a current flowing in each phase coil on the basis of a detected signal of a magnetic sensor detecting the magnetic pole of the rotor magnet, and drives to rotate the rotor magnet. The magnetic sensor 1a is constituted by combining a huge magnetic resistance element 2a, arranged facing the rotor magnet with a magnet 8 which is arranged on the rear side of a spacer member 3a via the member.
