PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a B-channel multiplex communication system where a B-channel whose capacity is limited can effectively and efficiently be used and to obtain a communication terminal used for the method. SOLUTION: The communication terminal 100 is provided with a main control section 105 that generates a data communication command signal for data communication designating a communication terminal on request of data communication and generates a channel assignment signal to divide inside of a B- channel, a bit steal clock relay control section 109 that generates a bit steal clock on the basis of the channel assignment signal, a B channel demultiplexer circuit 106 that assigns 4 bits in unit 8-bits to a voice channel and assigns 3-bits to new data channel on the basis of the bit steal clock, and a voice companding CODEC 111 that compresses or expands a voice signal sent via the voice channel on request of data communication, and executes voice communication and data communication in a loop call at the same time.
