PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a slider from getting out from a case when a tape cassette assembled with a simple structure easy to mold. SOLUTION: This tape cassette has a slider 3 set slidably to open and close a recessed part of a case body, and an urging member 91 for urging the slider in a direction to close the recessed part. The slider has projection parts 34 and 35 and, the case body has butt parts 36a and 37b set to hole parts 36 and 37 where the projection parts enter. When the slider is at a position to close the recessed part, the projection parts and butt parts are kept close to each other and therefore the slider is stopped moving in the direction to shut the recessed part. Projection parts include perpendicular parts where the projection parts enter the hole parts and horizontal parts which cover side faces along the hole parts, and the horizontal parts and side faces are brought close to each other, thereby, the slider is stopped moving to a perpendicular direction to a lower face of the case body.
