PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optimum relation between the diameter and length of a heat transfer tube and the tube bank arrangement that can improve the absorption performance of an absorber and can reduce the noise and power consumption of a cooling fan. SOLUTION: In a falling film absorber for air cooled absorption refrigerating machine using lithium bromide as an absorbent and water as a refrigerant, such a heat transfer tube is used that the combination of its diameter D (mm) and length L (mm) falls within the area surrounded by lines L=135D-1470, L=155D-2290, L=1100, and L=200, more preferably, lines L=160D-1989, L=160D-2182, L=1000, and L=300.
