At least one collector flap(7,8) acts as the splash guard and is located close to an inner face(17) of the wheel(6) facing the centre(18) of the vehicle. A number of collector flaps may be installed in the wheel arch(3) and/or on the underside(4) of the vehicle and extend parallel to the vehicle's longitudinal axis. The number of flaps per wheel have a forwards or rearwards displacement in the vehicle's longitudinal direction. The collector flaps are elastically deformable, and may consist of two or more materials with different hardness.
