PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove slag attached to the wall surface of a molten ore vessel without occurring a problem, such as of causing damages on the wall surface of the molten ore vessel. SOLUTION: A slag removing apparatus for a molten ore vessel 1, wherein slag 2 attached to the wall surface of the vessel 1 is raked and removed, comprises a raking tool 3 having a raking portion 9 for the slag 2, a tool driving means 4 for driving the raking tool 3 to rake out the slag 2 attached to the wall surface of the vessel 1 therefrom, a position control means 5 for a boom swinging means 17 or the like, which controls the raking position of the slag 2 by the raking tool 3, and a direction control means 6 for controlling the raking direction of the slag by the raking tool 3.
