PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overhead transmission cable having practically satisfactory wind-whistle characteristics and corona characteristics, and having a surface to which snow is less to stick. SOLUTION: This overhead transmission cable is made by twisting aluminum wires 4 together with steel wires 2, and twisting molded strands different from each other in height as part of the outermost strand layer to form a protrusive high-step projection part 8 and a low-step smooth part 10 on a surface of the cable. The depth H and the opening width t of dents 12 formed between the respective molded strends 5 forming the low-step smooth part 10 of the outermost layer of the overhead transmission cable 1, satisfy 0.7 mm<=H<1.5 mm, t/H>=3, and t>3.0 mm.
