PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent file contents which are being updated from being lost due to an accident in an absence by saving cache contents, specified with an application identifier and a file cache identifier, together and determining the saving operation timing. SOLUTION: An in-operation file batch saving means 1 recognizes the identifiers of individual active and inactive application software programs. File cache identifiers corresponding to files that the applications are opened are obtained by the identifiers. Then the contents of a file cache specified with the application identifiers and file cache identifiers are written to corresponding backup files individually. A saving timing means 2 generates a signal for operating the saving means 1, for example, as an operator gives an indication by mouse clicking when leaving his or her seat. Consequently, the contents in update operation of all the files that the applications on a desk-top computer are opening are saved together.
