The invention relates to a transformer component for connecting optical fibres to an electrical circuit. An electro-optical module (14) is fixed to a metallic leadframe (13) which is embedded, together with the electro-optical module fixed thereto, into a moulded part (FK) consisting of mouldable transparent material. Said leadframe (13) is provided with a solid outer structure when it is configured as a transformer component (12). The solid outer structure is an injection-moulded frame (18) that is open on both sides and consists of synthetic material which is provided with limited manufacturing tolerances.
