The mirror insert has a planar mirror (5) and a magnification mirror (6), each of which can be concealed by a sliding and/or pivoted cover (3,4), provided with a grip element (1,2) at its outer edge. The covers cooperate when both are closed for providing a surface which is visually homogenous with that of the sun visor. The sliding and/or pivoted cover (4) for the magnification mirror (6) acts as the support surface for the planar mirror (5), so that the latter is revealed when the first cover is closed over the magnification mirror and the cover (3) for the planar mirror is open.
