摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element improved in efficiency for utilizing light by forming a translucent block by cutting a block, which is formed by mutually sticking plural pieces of specified translucent members, at a prescribed angle. SOLUTION: A glass plate 321, on which a polarized light separating film 331 and a reflecting film 332 are formed, for example, and a glass pane 322, on which nothing is formed, are mutually stuck by an adhesive agent 325 so that the polarized light separating film 331 and the reflecting film 332 can be alternately arranged. In this case, glass panes 322b and 322c having thickness different from that of the glass pane 322 are stuck in the beginning and end of sticking and a dummy part and a translucent part 60 can be formed. Thus, the translucent block is segmented by cutting the plural adhered translucent members almost parallel on a cross section at a prescribed angleθto the surface thereof. It is preferable the value ofθis about 45 deg., and almost rectangular parallelopiped shape is provided by cutting the protruded portions of both ends. By grinding the surface of the segmented translucent block, a polarized beam splitter array is provided.
