PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive image pickup device for an endoscope whose optical performance is excellent and which is not misted. SOLUTION: This image pickup device for an endoscope is connected to an endoscope and constituted so that observation light from an object is fetched through the endoscope and the image thereof is picked up. Besides, it is provided with a device main body 11 connected to the endoscope and obtained by disposing an optical element in an inside space sealed with respect to the outside and an observation lens 16 receiving light from the endoscope. The lens 16 is composed of a 1st lens part 19 fitted to the main body 11 in a sealed state and a 2nd lens part 20 extended to the inside space side of the main body 11 from a base end of the 1st lens part 19 along in an optical axis direction. The lens part 20 is set to be thicker than the lens part 19 and the outside diameter thereof is set to be smaller than that of the lens part 19. Thus, an air layer 22 is formed between the lens part 20 and the main body 11.
