PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an image possible to be smoothly formed by fixing processing without any problem derived from a release agent in excess or deficency as a result of difference in paper passing interval in a fixing member. SOLUTION: The device, provided with a pair of fixing members 13 and 15, being driven during the time that the number of set images are formed, and performing the fixation while holding and carrying between them a recording material 12 being transported while holding an unfixed image 11. In this case, for feeding a releasing agent on the fixing member being driven by the releasing agent feeding mechanism, the feeding of the releasing agent is controlled based on paper passing interval when the recording material is passed through the fixing member at the time of being driven.
