PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a frequency channel by eliminating unnecessarily securing channel when the release of connection between with a data communication equipment is detected and it is detected that there is no other communication equipment under execution of data communication. SOLUTION: A base station is provided with a radio part 10, a modem part 20, a control part 50, etc. and the part 50 sets a microcomputer to be a main control part and is provided with a communication equipment managing part 551, a connection managing part 552, a channel control part 553 and a radio control part 554. A channel control part 553 controls setting, releasing, etc., of a packet channel for data communication between with a portable information terminal. In this case, the part 553 releases a packet channel when the release of connection between with server equipment is detected by the part 552 and also when it is detected that there is no portable information terminal under execution of data communication by the part 551.
