PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a neutral-point clamping power conversion apparatus in which initial charging abnormality of a smoothing capacitor, which can be miniaturized and which can be made low-cost. SOLUTION: Respective voltages of two smoothing capacitors 4a, 4b after a set time from the start of an initial charging operation are detected. When the voltage deviation between both capacitor voltages is at a first prescribed value or higher, an initial charging abnormality is decided by an abnormality detecting circuit 5. In addition, when voltage deviation between both capacitor voltages is at a first prescribed value or higher and when the voltage sum of both capacitor voltages is at a second prescribed value or lower, it is decided to be an initial charging abnormality. |
