PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy by reducing heat entering from the outside and to improve external appearance, in heat insulation constitution of a refrigerator. SOLUTION: A protrusion part 39 formed near the peripheral edge of a door inner plate 37 is positioned facing a recessed part 29 formed near the opening part of an inner box 20 to form a throat 41. The throat 41 is sealed by a seal member 42 situated at a plane part 38 of the peripheral edge of a heat insulation door 35 and making contact with a plane part 18 of a heat insulation boxy body 16 and a seal member 43 formed at a folded part 40 of the protrusion part 39 and making contact with a stepped part 31 of the recessed part 29 to reduce heat entering through the peripheral edge of the opening and save energy. Further, by decreasing the wall thickness of a plane part 38 of the heat insulation door 35 to a value lower than a reference wall thickness, a throat length is lengthened, an energy saving effect is improved, a fine side view is improved, and appearance is improved.
