A glass etching composition, characterized as comprising 1 to 10 w/v % (preferably, 2 to 5 w/v %) of a fluorinated compound, 20 to 80 v/v % (preferably, 20 to 50 v/v %) of water and 20 to 80 v/v % (preferably, 50 to 80 v/v %) of a water-miscible organic solvent. The glass etching composition is not hazardous to a human body and is free from the problem of environmental pollution and can be used for easy frosting on a glass surface.
