PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a heat storage combustion burner furnace to remarkably suppress variation in temperature at upper and lower parts in a furnace at a stage, where a maximum temperature is held, without damaging an energy saving effect. SOLUTION: An amount of fuel supplied to burners in a regenerative combustion burner furnace is controlled according to a furnace temperature so that a set heat curve is produced. Meanwhile, an amount of air supplied to each burner is controlled independently from a fuel supply amount so that the furnace temperature is maintained at a constant value even after the furnace temperature reaches a maximum temperature. This constitution circulates a sufficient amount of gas through the furnace even at a stage where the maximum temperature is held and suppresses a variation in temperature distribution. Or, a set of a plurality of burners on the upper stage side and a set of a plurality of burners on the lower stage side are caused to effect alternate combustion. |
