PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the exterior cover of each kind of equipment such as facsimile equipment and copy equipment for easily removing dirt. SOLUTION: An exterior cover 1 is constituted of a base materials 2 covering the case body of equipment and a swelling layer 3 formed of coating on the surface of the substrate 2, and the substrate 2 is formed of non-liquid absorbable materials such as thermoplastic resin or thermo-set resin. The swelling layer 3 is formed of materials which is allowed to swell by a prescribed amounts at the time of absorbing fluid, and made dissolvable in cleaning fluid. When a dirt formation substance 4 is adhered to the surface of the exterior cover 1, the cleaning fluid containing water or surface active agent or water soluble organic compound is adhered to the surface of the swelling layer 3. The cleaning fluid reaches to a boundary face between the swelling layer 3 and the dirt formation layer 4, and the dirt formation substance 4 is softened, and the swelling layer 3 is allowed to swell so that the adhering force of the dirt formation substrate 4 to the swelling layer 3 can be deteriorated. When the surface of the exterior cover 1 is wiped out by a proper wiping member such as cloth, the dirt formation substrate 4 can be clearly removed from the surface of the exterior cover 1. |
