PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make performable a specified processing corresponding to the lowering of the transfer performance of an intermediate transfer body and to maintain the performance of the intermediate transfer body as long as possible by controlling an image forming device based on the measured frictional resistance of the surface of the intermediate transfer body. SOLUTION: A frictional resistance measuring means 145 provided near a cleaning blade is equipped with an acicular elastic member 147 provided in the width direction of the cleaning blade and in a direction perpendicular to a direction where an intermediate transfer belt 14 is moved and a deformation amount measuring means 149 measuring the deformation amount of the member 147.
