<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a network to realize a real-time property and simultaneous multiaccess even when the network is small in scale. SOLUTION: A network is built of clients 20 composed of a plurality of terminal equipment, a source 30 storing information, a video outputting section 40 having video cameras, and a communication system which communicably interconnects the clients 20, source 30, and section 40. The source 30 is provided with a server 33, peripheral equipment 35, and a control means 31 which controls the server 33, equipment 35, and server 33 and the server 33, equipment 35, and means 31 are interconnected through an IEEE 1394 bus which is constituted as a high-speed serial bus and also interconnects the terminal equipment. The communication system 50 is provided with an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) converter 51 which can build a high-speed communication network between the system 50 and clients 20 and converters 52 and 53 which convert ATM- format signals outputted from the converter 51 into IEEE 1394-format signals between the system 50 and source 30. Therefore, the network can cope with the access from many terminal equipment even when the number of source-side servers is not increased.</p> |
