PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase transition type optical disk having excellent repeating recording characteristics, capable of easy erasure of essentially overall information and repeated use even after erasure of essentially overall information, phase transition materials for this purpose and a drive for highly reliably using the optical disk. SOLUTION: This phase transition material is a phase transition material which can be selectively crystallized in one crystalline state of at least two crystalline states by controlling the power of an irradiating laser beam upon initial crystallization by irradiation of the laser beam. This optical information recording medium is an optical disk having a heat resistant protective layer 2 on a substrate 1, a recording layer 3, a heat resistant protective layer 4 and a reflective heat radiation layer 5 and the phase transition material is utilized as the recording layer 3. This optical information recording/reproducing device is an optical information recording/reproducing device provided with a detecting mechanism and a controlling mechanism for favorably using the optical disk. |
