<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable fast, large-capacity transfer without lowering the switching capacity for communication data. SOLUTION: On a substrate 10, network element units 11 to 18 are arranged along the peripheral edge of the substrate 10. At the center part of the substrate 10, a control circuit 19 surrounded with the network element units 11 to 18 is provided. The network element units 11 to 18 each has an input part to which packet data are inputted, a buffer memory in which the inputted packet data are stored, and an output part for outputting the stored packet data to the outside. Further, the unit has a control part which decides the transmission destination of packet data from the transmission address of the stored packet data and outputs the stored packet data to the output part of this unit or to another unit.</p> |
