PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron gun structure with relatively simple construction, applied to a color cathode-ray tube device, that forms a fine beam spot on a phosphor screen in a full range of low to high current supply so as to display a fine image. SOLUTION: In an electron gun structure 107, a relatively higher potential is applied to an eighth grid G8, a relatively intermediate potential is applied to both a third grid G3 and a seventh grid G7, a relatively lower or approximately equal potential to that of the third grid G3 is applied to a fifth grid G5, and a relatively intermediate-higher potential, which is higher than that of the third grid G3 and lower than that of the eighth grid G8, is applied to both a fourth grid G4 and a sixth grid G6.
