PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably seat an armature by controlling voltage impressed on one electromagnet attracting the armature constant when the armature supported at a neutral position imparted by two springs working in opposed directions in a non-operating state is driven by a pair of electromagnets. SOLUTION: In an electromagnet actuator driving an intake/exhaust valve of an engine of an automobile, an armature (movable iron piece) 22 held by a pair of opposed springs 16, 17 is driven between one termination position and the other termination position by alternately energizing a pair of opposed electromagnets 11, 13. In this case, each voltage and current supplied from a constant voltage power source to the electromagnets 11, 13 via a pulse modulation driver in accordance with a control signal from a control device is detected. When a detected voltage value becomes lower than a fixed value, a voltage duty ratio is increased and when the voltage value is increased more than the fixed value, the voltage duty ratio is reduced and voltage driving the electromagnets 11, 13 is controlled constant.
