PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which prevents white fringe from occurring around a character and the minute dots of a dot adjacent to the character from being enhanced in the character on a dot area, when subjected to edge enhancement for characters on dot area. SOLUTION: This image processor has a dot discriminating part 183 which detects a dot area in an original image, an edge discriminating part 182 which divides an edge into an inner side and an outer side and discriminates them and an integrated deciding part 185, which prevents edge enhancement of the outer side of a character edge in the dot area from the discriminated results of the part 108 and the decided results of the part 183. |
