PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card reader capable of stable reading by preventing a blur on the surface of a mirror in extremely simple configuration. SOLUTION: This card reader is provided with a card inserting and ejecting means 2, an optical reading means composed of an optical system comprising a mirror 31 for reading characters on a card inserted by the card inserting and ejecting means and a CCD camera 32, a recognizing means for recognizing and processing information from the optical reading means, a display means for displaying prescribed information on the basis of data from the recognizing means and a driving control means for the respective means at least. In this case, the mirror 31 is arranged while turning the surface toward the internal mechanism of the main body of device and a communication path 9 is formed between the component group of high heat generating property among the internal mechanism and the mirror surface so that the blur on the surface of the mirror can be prevented. The communication path is formed from a substrate for holding the CCD camera and an anticluding means 11 is provided close to the mirror. Further, a pressure regulating means 10 for the main body of device is provided. |
